Atlanta Food Not Bombs is run entirely by volunteers.  We need your help!  You don’t need any special skills, everyone can be useful somehow.  Here are some ways to volunteer your time.

Prep

Volunteers gather to sort and prepare food to distribute several times each week. Help is always needed, check the Volunteer Meetup column in the chart below to know when/where to be.  Get in touch, or just show up!

Share

We distribute food multiple times a week at different locations. Feel free to come help distribute, or just come to socialize with everyone who has gathered to get what they need.  Music, art and festivity is encouraged!

Clean

After each distribution, we need to clean up.  Help is especially needed here breaking down boxes, packing up leftovers, dealing with compost, etc.

Pick up donations

Generous donors often offer food, clothes, and other resources…but it’s a lot of work to move it all around!  If you can volunteer to be available to occasionally pick up donations and transport them to a storage location, please get in touch.  Reliability is mandatory, and access to a vehicle is a plus.

Solicit donations / volunteers

Ask your local grocery store, farmer’s market, restaurant, etc what they do with their excess food.  Will they donate it to Food Not Bombs?

Talk to your friends, co-workers, students, congregation, etc about volunteering.  Spread the word using our outreach materials.
